Here is a response I made on a message board concerning the Lord working through us... AMEN! That is why the Lord works in us and GIVES us a testimony of His work in our lives! That work does NOT have to be complete as we are healing and being sanctified. How He works and through our obedience we are regenerated from the vilest of sins... God glorifies HIMSELF through us as we go out and bring the One who is in us, to others.
I always think of Paul who asked to be healed of his "thorn" yet, He was still obedient to God as he did as he was led and allowed God to work through him... despite the thorn.
For so many that God will use, if they didn't have "their" thorn... then God would not be able to use them as He does to glorify Himself.
I once was talking with a friend who struggled with the "I can't do this or that" for God. So I asked him that if God was to take their purpose and give it to a person that was hanicapped and had no use of thier legs and was in a wheelchair, yet they did the purpose with no problem because they allowed God to do the work through them... why were they able to do it and not them?
We hinder ourselves when we allow the enemy to "lie" to us and a big lie he whispers is that we're not worthy. If God gives us a task that is impossible... ummm, He's God, nothing is impossible and He'll enable us through His Holy Spirit to do the IMPOSSIBLE.
So something doesn't work, once, twice, 3 times... are we out? Hardly... Jesus is just putting us in situations where He's trying to get us to let HIM do the work and when we work it our way... expect it not to work 4, 5, 6... Surrender to the will of Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to guide and empower as needed.
Also, when God does give purpose He's not gonna give us something we can't do though Him. I mean, it's not us, it's HIM doing His will and any of us are simply a vessel and we will be just as surprised as another when we do miraculous tasks.
It's when we give "ourselves" purpose we'll never have the "ability" because we simply don't have what it takes. Many purposes we give ourselves are accomplished because we limit ourselves to what we "can" do. So then who is the Glory for?
The Lord will have us do what we "can't" do and all the Glory is to Him because without Him, we'd not be able to accomplish the task.
Trust, faith... let The Lord do His work. Let's not do work for God, let's just have trust and faith in God... to do the work through us.
