I was led to go to church last week to pray upon the altar very early on a Friday morning. After I was done praying I was led through the Bible to read parts of Romans… Chapter 8 in its entirety and some verses from a few other chapters in Romans. Tonight I was led to read in 1 Peter chapter 5… in particular verses 9 and 10 which lets me know it’s time to post this blog. So last week on the 18th I wrote in my journal that morning of prayer my thoughts as they came. Bear with me as I type this up and then I’m also led to a morning that the Lord woke me up at 3:34am to pray about Strength and Endurance, which I journaled also on the 11th a week prior to last. Most likely a follow-on blog in a few days.
This is straight out of my journal:
So as I read this chapter in Romans I see how the enemy tries so strongly to get me/us to doubt our relationship with God. We are His children, so why do we doubt? Why do we allow the enemy to roll us onto our back and we expose our stomachs to him? This is an act of surrender in the animal kingdom, or even an act of trust! WHY would we do that for satan? He wants us to be animals, docile to his evil that goes on around us, or worse, thriving in the sin of the world. By being docile to all the sin of this world, you might as well condone it all.
Then what happens if a person, a Christian speaks out against it… Persecution! Persecution to beat them back down so they are docile once again and they tolerate the sin that goes on around them.
Stripped of authority, afraid to use authority, that is the enemies plan for all. Remove the weapons from the hands of those who would use them. Hinder us, those who are called Christians. Are we Christians in the safety of the inside of our church buildings? Are we Christians in the safety of our homes? Yet the moment we step out into the world, away from the safety of shelter and privacy of our relationship with the Almighty God, are we then afraid to show our faith in God… to the world? Is the Lord Almighty only Mighty inside the walls of safety? Or is He just as Mighty as you step out into the world and not only set your sights on bringing God with you in a way that all you meet know you are a Christian but also welcome the persecution because this shows you that the enemy is resisting you!
satan’s resistance against you is only effective if you allow it to be effective against you. We have the weapons to resist satan, we have the tools, weapons, armor, words, empowerment, and authority to drive satan away from us. Yet so many roll over, expose their stomachs and surrender to the persecution.
I do it, we all do this in one way or another until we reach two points… 1) We fully surrender and we have been devoured by satan, or 2) We say, “Enough!”
Well, for me… I’ve had enough of satan and my feet are spread for balance in the storm and I am on my knees for battle.
Next blog is about the Strength and the Endurance the Lord gives us to get us through the battle.
