Fundamentals I was looking through my journal this evening and I came upon something the Lord was ministering to me last March 09. In my present wilderness trek, I really needed to read this once again...
We go against the enemy and he plans to devour us but in our obedience, we remain under the protection of God. Remaining under this protection means we must always and continually battle against the enemy. It means allowing God to show us the enemy’s tactics against us so we recognize his attacks and movements in the form of temptations that are placed before us on our walk. We must cling to God and call on Him for His strength IF it is not to be stepped around but instead, gone through. There is the other side that will be reached and if we plan to be made stronger as we pass through the struggle/trial, then we need to continuously give it all to God, praise God and remain in communication with God. He’ll use the trial to cleanse and strengthen us as we go through it.
Two forms of communication with God, the two basic fundamentals of drawing close to God and allowing Him to draw near us is: PRAYER and reading the Bible. These two fundamentals of our relationship with God is what the very mortar of our foundation is made of. It is what holds it all together. It is what keeps our feet from slipping, it is what allows us to get back up when knocked down, it is what enables us to move forward against satan himself. The very Word we read died for us so that we have communication with our Father so that our relationship is through our Savior and He speaks to us each time we pick up our Bible and we talk each time we lift up prayer and praise to Him.
As we go through our trials we cannot allow the enemy to lead us away from the basics.
